This surge suppressor works fine. It's not that part that's the minor issue. It's the clamp. My entertainment center only has 3 shelves, made out of wood, and it still weighed 33 pounds. If the shelves were thick enough to actually accommodate the clamp on this product, the entertainment center would weigh closer to 80 pounds! The clamp needs at minimum about an inch thick shelf to stably clamp onto. They are even better at 1.5-2 inches thick. But anything less, and you need to add another piece of material to accommodate the clamp (realistically, I don't know of any modern entertainment center, which is what this product is basically made for, that can accommodate the clamps). The clamps can fold in, but maybe it's just my unit, they don't fold all the say in, so that makes that particular feature useless as an alternative. |
