The Brother MFC-9440CN is a network-ready color laser Multi-Function Center® that offers a wide range of standard features ideal for any office or business. Produce vibrant, rich color documents and copies in-house without having to outsource printing them. With consistently fast speeds, outstanding print/scan quality, expandable paper handling and memory, onboard PictBridge port, ADF and network-readiness, the Brother MFC-9440CN is one flexible and customizable machine. Plus, its security feature is great, especially for a multiuser environment. This is an ideal color laser multifunction printer for small offices and workgroups and it offers the features and performance that meet the wide-ranging needs of a busy office environemnt. A PictBridge-enabled USB button sits on the front panel and supports both PictBridge cameras and USB flash drives. This printer was easy to set up and functions flawlessly. If you set it to monochrome it does not use color toners. If your color toner cartridges are empty and it is set to print monochrome, the printer will still print. The cartridges do not cost $100 each, you can get them much cheaper if you shop around. The average printing costs are as advertised or cheaper than advertised.It also has a toner saver setting that works very well with a high quality output. This [printer is a workhorse that was designed for small workgroups but heavy use. Scanning, faxing and copying functions all work well. Color printing is not top of the line, but is adequate for non-glossy brochures, flyers, etc., and top quality color printers are much more expensive. This printer was also recommended by CNET. We have not noticed any dimming of the lights when the printer first comes on and it is not very noisy. We are very happy with our purchase. |

The printer works great until it breaks. Then, you cannot get any support from Brother's tech support. After spending over 2 hours with them, they didn't know how to fix the printer or offered to help. They just kept running through the same ''checks'' over and over again. The printer is a nice printer, but tech support is horrible. |

This MFC is a well made easy to use printer/scanner/fax. The print quality is very good, scanning is quick and easy. The software included is also very easy to use. The only problem I had was after installing the unit the scanner would not work from the control center. I called Brother and their support person was very helpful and the problem was resolved in about 10 minutes. They had me download a small program that corrected a registry problem caused by another scanner that had been on my system prior to the Brother. |
