I bought this item for my daughter for her laptop as she will be going away to college this fall. She has all of her music and pictures on it and she can't believe all the space left over. She will use this extra drive for all school and personal files for years to come. She is totally happy with this.

I pluged it into my bell HD receiver followed the instructions to format and I have had no problems since. The hard drive runs all the time but this is necessary to work with the Bell HD receiver. You can unplug it when you are not usig it but the reciever has to reset itself to see the hard disk again.
