These products were created for the specific purpose of enabling end users to install Vonage Digital Voice Service throughout their homes without hassle.
The Vonage Whole House Solution DECT 6.0 Broadband Telephone System is comprised of a V-Portal and a Cordless Digital Phone System. The V-Portal is a VoIP gateway and single port router that comes as one in a single device. The Vonage V-Portal allows you to simultaneously use your Internet connection and telephone without getting disconnected all at the same time. This device can also connect up to 2 Vonage lines through your high-speed Internet connection. All you need to do is plug the V-Portal into your broadband modem and the DECT 6.0 phone base into one of the two RJ-11 telephone ports and you’re set to go. All that remains is placing your additional handsets anywhere you’re comfortable of, either at home or office. You can use your present fax machine and another phone if you subscribe to another line.

I hate to say I am cheap. But Vonage is a CHEAP service. The equipment far exceeded my expectations on ease of installation and cost. I have used Vonage for over 5 years and the service improves with time. Just like wine.
