 BlueAnt V1 Bluetooth Headset With Voice Control
The BlueAnt V1 - the first ever Bluetooth headset with a true voice user interface (VUI). The BlueGenie Voice Interface software suite enables the V1 to integrate full voice control and synthetic speech output without the need for visual displays or complex user interfacing.
Users of the BlueAnt V1 will no longer deal with lengthy or confusing button pressing to access functionality. Instead,
the V1 can be controlled with simple phrases like “pair headset,” “call home,” “volume up” and “accept call.” When
it comes to checking headset status it will not be necessary to interpret confusing beep sequences or LEDs.
BlueGenie’s voice synthesis capability enables the V1 to speak back to the consumer, letting them know device
settings including successful pairing of the headset, battery power level, etc.
By eliminating the need to add buttons or displays, a voice user interface frees designers to pack functionality onto
small form factor Bluetooth devices and answers consumer demand for a truly hands-free experience. For example,
voice dial and call answering capabilities mean drivers can keep their hands on the steering wheel and eyes on the
road. With added functionality, the headset market is poised to experience greater product differentiation which
until now has been limited primarily to aesthetics.

I've been using this product for about 90 days and all in all it's a good product for a wireless headset.
The voice commands are limited and occasionally it assumes what your saying and is wrong. Saying ''answer'' sometimes does not connect the call and occasionally you have to tap the headset button to connect the call.
The only annoying part is waiting for it to finish reading out the incoming number to you before you can say ''answer''. This takes a couple of rings and you need to know your number numbers if you screen your calls.
All in all, a good product and I'm sure that it will evolve quite a bit in future releases.

Easy solution if handsfree phone conversation desired. Everything the phone says it will do is actual. The voice command does the wrong thing occassionally, but not too often. The speed dial command is very tricky if you have a blackberry since the keys are letters instead of numbers. And manually programming the speed dial requires that the number you want to save has called you most recently before you add it. In other words, you have to arrange for a person to call you and and then enter save the number to speed dial, have the next person call, save that number, and so on. Kind of ridiculous. But once it is set up, it's cool. |

I recently replaced an in ear blue tooth with the V1. I like this much better. It is comfortable and since it has an over the ear holder, it does not fall out or feel like it is. The noise cancellation technology is great. Voice command features work well. I don't use it enough to know how long the battery lasts. |

I purchased this headset for work and have only used it a few times. It was easy to set up and pair with my phone. The voice controll is excellent with smooth sounding instructions. You just have a few simple commands that you can ask it and it will call your contacts or answer incoming calls. The list of possible voice commands could be more extensive but it is adequate for my purposes. I am pleased with this product and would recommend it to a friend. |

The V1 performs well and I really liked the fit and design. Unfortunately the voice commands tend to become annoying after a day or so. Having to wait and listen for the commands to finish before responding became a pain. When I turned off voice commands, I had to rely on the built in ring tone to announce a call, which is way way too quiet. Also, be aware that the V1 does NOT support call waiting. For these two reasons, and the fact that my phone already has voice dialing, I returned an otherwise fine earpiece. If you need the features because your phone is lacking in these areas, this might be a good choice. Otherwise, perhaps the Z9i or a different earpiece might be a better choice. |
