- WinTV-HVR-2250 has these great features
- Watch and record two TV programs at the same time: two analog cable TV channels, two digital TV channels or one analog cable and one clear QAM digital cable TV channel.
- When recording analog cable TV, the dual built in hardware MPEG-2 encoders let your PC run at full speed.
- Watch and record 'clear QAM' digital TV. Clear QAM digital TV channels are TV channels which are broadcast "in the clear" on your cable TV network.
- Includes Hauppauge's WinTV v6 application, which allows you to watch analog cable TV, QAM and ATSC digital TV channels.
- ATSC over-the-air digital TV features
- Dual ATSC over-the-air digital TV tuners. Supports all ATSC formats, up to the highest definition 1080i format!
- Watch one ATSC digital TV program while recording another ATSC program to your PC's hard disk using high quality MPEG-2. TV recordings will typically consume 5 GB of disk space per hour for ATSC high definition.

This is a difficult purchase considering the varied opinions. Many things have to be right for this product to work. The instructions have a few errors but mostly OK. The HCWCIRConfig Tool file did not install until I downloaded the latest software. Once installed it works great in Windows 7 Pro 64 bit using the Media Player. I record 2 TV programs at the same time and can watch the beginning of one program while the end is still recording. The IR sensing device is on the same cable as some LEDs but I just role those up and store them. I only use terrestrial TV signals and it works fine. The picture is not as good as the Sony 52 inch TV tuner but it is still HD and decent quality. In conjunction with the Windows 7 Media player I'm impressed. |

When I use this it crashes my computer. I either get a complete reboot or a blue screen memory dump. I have had poor response from the company by e-mail. They finally replaced the card and it is the same problem. It is a shame because this is the sixth Hauppauge product I have used over the past 10 years. |

I would not buy this product again and do not recommend it mostly due to poor video recording formats and major problems with making recording via the scheduler. Very disappointing product. You cannot adjust the window size. It's either small or maximized no way to stretch it in between. Recording is either proprietary or mpg but it must convert proprietary at the end of the recording so when the ending comes there is a huge wait like minutes, while the CPU is maxed out so it can convert the proprietary video into MPG. This is a huge problem if recording one show right after another. And I have a 3.4 GHz CPU with 4 Gigs RAM. Also the TV guide just doesn't work as it is empty. Have to use on-line guide. So you have to manually always create your own advanced recordings. This product has crashed many times. And I have to say that when you change one channel to the next there is always about a 10 second delay so the program can buffer. This is so crappy. |

the product worked fine. problem with vista. had to uninstall burning software before windows media center for vista would work with card.

The tuner installed perfectly. The only trouble I had was getting the remote to work. The instructions in the manual didn't work for me, I had to load the WinTV to be able to turn on the Infrared to get the remote to work. Other than that small problem its been smooth sailing and a great buy. Would def recommend. |
