I had tons of movies on my computer in the basement but the big screen is upstairs. What to do? Get one of these gizmos. All my movies are on a small portable USB drive so all I do is hook this thing up, plug it into the TV and voila! The movie and sound go through without any loss of detail. Very small to carry around (I flew across the country with it in my camera bag), works superbly. The remote is a little tiny and hard to use because of the snap-type pushbutton keys, but it's usable. YOu can also get the model that has a built-in drive. |
Had to be an early adopter... I'm happy with it.

Having ripped most of my DVDs to DivX and MP4 I had the problem of needing a computer to play them. Now I just hook my terabyte drive up to it and it controls it.
DVDs get too many scratches too quickly. This thing takes my data and lets me just play it. It's easy to run and great to have. I can put the DVDs away.
It can be used for music, photos (I haven't yet) but it does the toughest thing well. It plays videos in every format I know about.
Press the standby button... it shuts off the hard drive. It's a real green solution to the problem.
It's like a DVD player that you can run without having to get up and change the DVD.
I don't know it's limits but it seems to handle anything I can throw at it.
Get it... it's cool. |
