included software has been discontinued use by the company, HDMI along with other features didnt work without it. Buttons are a pain. Nice monitor other wise. Good picture, but i bought it for the hdmi, so i sent it back and went with another company. disappointed overall. |

Excellent picture. Black levels are very good. The monitor is basically an HDTV without a tuner. I purchased for the eye-strain reducing features and I think they will help me some. The monitor dims quite a bit when this feature is enabled (even in a well lit room), but I am going to stick with it. I love the full brightness, but it isn't necessary and my eyes pay for it after several hours. Like another reviewer mentioned, the forte manager software does not seem to work with Windows 7 (running 64 bit). And the update from the LG website was flagged by my anti-virus software, so I don't know what that is about. Not a big deal though, especially for the price. I haven't had any problems with the touch menu controls once I figured out that you actually touch WHERE the words are (not beneath them like I assumed incorrectly...I couldn't get it to turn on for a couple minutes and was worried I had a dead monitor). Seems like a good buy so far. |

Good value for the money, very good picture, excellent quality, terrible front panel controls.
The monitor has a excellent picture and the function manager software allows for easy adjustment from the PC task tray which is really good because the front panel controls are almost unusable. The 'button' labels are tiny and dark grey on a black background. They can only be read in daylight if you get very close.
I don't regret the purchase. I set my monitor and don't change things. If you're going to swap this monitor between computers and have to change settings when you do, the controls are going to be a real problem. |

I would have probably kept this monitor if it not been for a couple of negatives. First, the OSD touch buttons are horrendous. The labeling for each touch button is very difficult to read even with light in the room, however they do light up red when your hand gets close to the panel. Still, you'll have to memorize which each one does. That part of it didn't bother me as much, it was the responsiveness when touching the buttons that did. Sometimes the buttons would work when I pressed them but most of the time they didn't. I would have to press on the same area at least 2-4 times before it would actually respond. It made setting up the monitor annoying and very frustrating. Also, the software they give you would not work with Windows 7 64bit. My second gripe was with the stand. Cheap plastic and I didn't like the fact it only raised the monitor up about an 1in off my desk. Aside from those two negatives the monitor had excellent picture quality & response times were good! |
