I bought this filter for our Chiropractic/Acupuncture clinic to assure privacy under HIPPA so unauthorized persons could not see medically protected personal patient information.It limits the useable viewing angle from 0 to about 25 degrees when sitting directly in front of the monitor. It fits well over a monitor that is more rectangular in shape for a 4:3 viewing format. It is wide enough to hide sensitive data when using a 16:9 ratio screen. It comes with two sets of hanging brackets for an older CRT type monitor or a newer LCD type. It dims the brighness of the screen somewhat which can be compensated for by adjusting the monitors brightness controls. It is very sturdy and comes with a grounding cord for CRT's to minimize shock. Overall pricier than the slide in filter sheet inserts, but it performs well and is sturdy so I feel it is worth the extra cost.
