Membership

How do I become a member of the Circuit City Rewards Program?
Once you are approved for a Circuit City Rewards credit card, you will be instantly enrolled and eligible to earn rewards points on your qualifying card purchases.

Does it cost anything to become a member?
There is no program fee associated with being a member of the Circuit City Rewards Program.

What is my Circuit City Rewards ID number?
As a first-time user of the member site, located at www.circuitcityrewards.com, your personal Circuit City Rewards ID Number will be needed to register for online access to your Circuit City Rewards card account. Your Circuit City Rewards ID Number can be found in the Rewards Points Summary section of your Circuit City credit card statement, or you may call 1-866-525-1282 to obtain it. After your first login, you’ll be prompted to create a new user name and password for future visits to this site.

Can my family or friends use my Circuit City Rewards credit card so I'll earn extra points for their purchases, too?
Points earned are not transferable and can only be redeemed by the authorized cardholder(s). If you wish to add authorized users to your Account, you may request a form at the Card Services website. Select the "Contact Us" option and complete the email form. Or, you may call our Card Services department at 1-866-525-1282.

When does my Circuit City Rewards membership expire?
Membership in the Circuit City Rewards program will be renewed automatically each year, as long as your Account is open and not in default, as described in your Credit Card Agreement. If your Account is in default, we reserve the right to prohibit you from earning or redeeming points and to cause you to forfeit any points in your Rewards account. If your Account is closed for any reason, your membership in the Program will be terminated and the total balance of your accumulated Rewards earnings will be forfeited. Additionally, any fraud or abuse related to the accrual or redemption of points will result in forfeiture of accrued points as well as cancellation of membership in the Program.

How do I close my Account?
If you wish to close your credit card account, please contact Card Services or call us at 1-866-525-1282. If you want to continue using your Account but no longer wish to take part in the Rewards program, do nothing; your points will automatically expire 36 months from the month in which they were earned.

 

Points

When do I begin accumulating points?
You are eligible to begin earning rewards points immediately upon activation of your new Circuit City Rewards credit card and will begin accumulating points with your first card purchase at Circuit City stores that does not involve any promotional financing. To activate your new Circuit City Rewards credit card, call 1-800-947-3765.

Is there a bonus for signing up for the Circuit City Rewards program?
No, not at this time, but be on the lookout for special promotions in the future.

How do I get points?
You'll earn 5 points for every $1 you spend on eligible purchases you make using your Circuit City Rewards credit card at Circuit City stores Purchases made at CircuitCity.com may not offer the opportunity to receive points, as promotional financing terms may automatically apply. If you have a Circuit City Rewards Visa, you'll also earn 1 point for every $1 you spend using your Circuit City Rewards Visa card anywhere else Visa credit cards are accepted. Plus, you can earn additional points through special offers and promotions.

Is there anything that I won't earn points for?
You do not earn points for purchases made with promotional financing (example: 0% interest for 18 months on a big screen TV). You do not earn points on balance transfers, cash advances, any checks that access your account (including those used for purchases at Circuit City Stores and Circuitcity.com), sales tax, Circuit City gift cards, money orders, finance charges, unauthorized charges, or fees of any kind, including fees for products that protect or insure the balances of your Account. Points will be deducted for any returns or credits made on your account.

What do you mean when you say I won't earn points for purchases made with "promotional financing"?
Circuit City and Chase offer special finance offers including no interest offers on a variety of items. If you choose to purchase such an item and wish to take advantage of the no-interest finance offer by using your Circuit City Rewards credit card, you will not earn points for that purchase. However, if you prefer Rewards points, just tell the Store Associate that you do not want to accept the promotional financing for that purchase. Remember, some online purchases may not include an option to choose points as promotional financing may automatically apply.

Will I still get points if I didn't have my card and a Circuit City Associate looked up my Account in the store?
Yes. Any qualifying purchase made on your Account at Circuit City will earn points even if your actual card was not presented.

Do I get points for purchasing a Circuit City Advantage Protection Plan®?
Yes. Circuit City Advantage Protection Plan purchases at Circuit City stores qualify for 5 Rewards points for every $1 of the purchase price unless you choose to accept a promotional financing offer, such as no-interest for 6 months, in lieu of the rewards points.

Do I get points for purchasing installation services?
Yes. FiredogSM purchases at Circuit City stores qualify for 5 Rewards points for every $1 of the purchase price unless you choose to accept a promotional financing offer, such as no-interest for 6 months, in lieu of the rewards points.

What happens to my points when I return an item?
The points you earned for that purchase will be deducted from your Rewards account.

I returned an item and was given a gift card. Will I get points for using that gift card on another purchase?
No. When returning an item to Circuit City, be sure that the Customer Service Associate credits your Circuit City Rewards credit card for that purchase. When you make a subsequent or replacement non-promotional financing purchase at Circuit City stores, you will then earn your appropriate Rewards points.

Are there a maximum number of points I can accumulate?
No. There is no maximum number of points you can accumulate in the Program.

Can I transfer my points to my friend's account?
Points earned are not transferable. Points from separate enrolled accounts may not be combined into one account.

How do I keep track of my points?
Your point balance will be reflected in the Rewards Points Summary section of your monthly billing statement. You can also track and redeem your points at www.circuitcityrewards.com or by calling 1-866-525-1282.

What do I do if I think there is an error in my points?

Redemption

When will my points be available for redemption?
Points earned during the month are available for redemption once they are posted on your monthly billing statement.

How many points do I need to accumulate for a reward?
Once you accumulate 500 points you will be eligible to redeem them for a $5 Circuit City Rewards Certificate.

Can I save up my points for larger rewards?
Yes. Your Rewards points will accumulate until you choose to redeem them (remember, points expire 36 months from the month you earned them). For point balances of 1,000 and above, you'll have the option to choose the number of Rewards Certificates issued and their dollar value.

Why would I want to redeem my points for five smaller certificates instead of one large certificate?
Rewards Certificates are good for one-time use only and any remaining balance will be forfeited. No credit will be given if the total purchase price is less than the value of the certificate. If you plan to use your Rewards Certificates for smaller purchases, it's best to have five certificates of smaller denominations instead of one certificate that is a larger denomination. However, if you are saving your points for that big-screen TV, you may want to choose larger denominations because there is a 5-certificate maximum on each purchase made in a Circuit City store. There is a 3-certificate maximum on each basket of items purchased on www.circuitcity.com.

What is auto-redemption?
You have the choice to change your account to "auto-redemption". With auto-redemption, every time your Rewards account reaches at least 500 points, we will automatically redeem them for you, mail out your $5 Circuit City Rewards Certificate and carry any remaining points balance forward. To change your account to auto-redemption, just call Card Services at 1-866-525-1282 or visit My Account to change your redemption options.

How long does it take to get my Rewards Certificate?
It takes approximately 2-3 weeks to receive your certificate in the mail.

What can I use my Rewards Certificates for?
The Rewards Certificates are good toward any purchase at a Circuit City store or at www.circuitcity.com. Certificates may be combined with other offers. Every certificate must be redeemed within 90 days from the date it was issued. Certificates are good for one-time use only; any remaining balance will be forfeited and no credit will be given back if the total purchase price is less than the value of the certificate. Please see back of Rewards Certificate for more details.

Can I use my points toward anything else besides Circuit City Rewards Certificates?
At this time, points earned using a Circuit City Rewards credit card can only be redeemed for Rewards Certificates, which are usable only at Circuit City.

Can I redeem my Rewards Certificates online?
Yes. Just go to www.circuitcity.com, and find the items you'd like to purchase. When you check out, enter the Rewards Certificate number and PIN in the Gift Certificate section. Note: There is a 3-certificate limit per online transaction.

Do Rewards Certificates expire?
Every certificate must be redeemed within 90 days from the date it was issued.

What do I do if I didn't receive my Rewards Certificates in the mail?
Email us or call us at 1-866-525-1282.

What do I do if I lost my Rewards Certificate?
We're sorry, but Rewards Certificates cannot be replaced.

What do I do if I lost my Circuit City credit card?
Please call Chase Card Services at 1-800-603-8987.

I already have an account with Circuit City. Can I change my current account to a Circuit City Rewards card account?
You may apply for a Circuit City Rewards credit card. If you are approved, your balance will be transferred to your Rewards credit card and your old account will be closed.

Eligible customers can upgrade their account to a Rewards credit card by visiting any Circuit City store location.

How can I apply for a Circuit City Rewards credit card?
Just visit any Circuit City store. You can apply, be approved, shop and earn points all in one trip.

I have an old Circuit City credit card account and I just got a new Circuit City Rewards Visa. How do I combine my accounts and points?
