Battery life was advertised to last for 6.5 hrs. I charged it overnight and only got about 3 hrs out of it. I thought something was wrong with the battery because I should have gotten at least 6 hours of battery life out of it, esp. given the $99 priceI paid for it. I went back to circuit city and they were happy to exchange my battery for a new one. Again I charged the battery overnight and still only got 3 hrs out of it. Battery life is false advertisement, I contacted Sony support and they could not tell me how long the battery is suppose to last for. I got a roundabout answer from them advising that it depends on the wear of the camera, etc. but I bought a brand new camcorder. Finally, they came up with an answer and advised that I should get at least 5 hrs. Are you kidding me? If Sony doesn't know how long the battery life is suppose to be then why would they advertise that it will last for 6.5 hrs! That is a ripoff and no one I contacted at Sony could give me a definitive answer. They kept saying that there must be something wrong with the battery and to replace it. What a joke!

They are good batteries just as advertized

i got the Sony HDR-SR12e camera and with this battery i usually get around 3 hours of use time but with the LCD screen open the entire time turning it on and off when ever, but i recorded a wading ceremony and put the camera on a stand and it was turnedoff only once to change the position and the battery lasted almost 6 1/2 hours just like advertised so it all depends on how u use it, plus when i called SONY they said the same thing about how its it used will determine time for the battery, hope that help if u need longer time buy the 100 series

On May 15, 2008 I purchased the battery NP-FH70 from Circuit City store in Mishawaka, IN. In the package of the battery it clearly appears that the duration of the battery is 6.5 hours, however, the real lasting time (fully charged) is 275 minutes. I called customer relationships for a solution (event number E37369675). A sales representative called John (id. Number CQVA) said that there is nothing that SONY can do about it. I would have expected first that SONY would have recognized its error, seconda solution, and third more cordiality from the customer representative.
