Netgear hit a homerun with this one. The Rangemax was up and running in minutes. Wired and wireless worked flawlessly. The coverage in my 2200sq ft ranch was perfect, no deadspots that I could find.
My wifes laptop uses the G band, wich works very well, and consistant 54mbs/sec connection. I ran a speed test from BB reports.com, and it was like the laptop was on the hardwired port.
To set the security level higher was a snap, Netgear's easy setup CD included ,automatically found all the mac addresses on the router.
And Oh, those sweet GIGABIT ports for my gaming power beast... '/

As a Broadcast Engineer, I highly recommend this router for home use.

it seems alot of people have the same proplem. it worked great for 13 months then died,awesome i said.called support and same thing everyone else says,you will have to buy another one. no not this guy.

I purchased this on 05/02/2008 and this is the second one that has died on me! The first time I had a lot of problems dropping connections. It seemed like i had to unplug the router 2-3 times daily to reset the wireless connection on my laptop sitting 15feet away from the router on my couch.

When I exchanged it for a new one 2 weeks later, it's worked great until yesterday. I am currently experiencing what's known as the 'green circle of death'. Do a google search of this problem with the model # included. I typed 'WNR854T green death' and found a bunch of forums where MANY people experience this about 5-8 months after owning it. I only had my laptop and tivo connected wireless to the router and I don't play any computer games or stream HD videos or anything so it shouldn't have been pushed anywhere near its' limits.

If you purchase this router, BUY THE PROTECTION PLAN WITH IT! I plan on putting my protection plan to good use tomorrow afternoon.

Oh and by the way, Netgear refuses to give you over the phone help after 90 days of purchasing this product. So there's no help there, but at least I was only on hold for 15 minutes...
