We use the HP D4260 (which uses this print cartridge) as a backup for our laser. We print text only with printer set to 'fast draft'. The HP 74 ran out of ink VERY quickly. Fast draft should provide longer cartridge life, but the black ink was depleted after less than a ream (roughly 300 pages), with each page identical in text size and length (only covering roughly 1/3 of the page). Very poor performance, where cost per page is exceeding 20 cents.
