Features

Hybrid recording: The JVC Everio GZ-MG330A camcorder comes with a built-in 30GB hard disk drive (HDD) that allows long recording times. You can choose the picture quality from four modes, from high-quality video equivalent to DVD Movie to small-sized clip ideal for uploading to the Web. In addition to the HDD, Everio also has a microSD/SDHC slot so you can record videos and capture stills onto these popular memory cards (sold separately).

1/6" 680k pixel CCD: The 1/6" CCD image sensor with 680K pixels provides stunning detail and clarity with exceptional video.

35x optical zoom: This Everio is equipped with 35x optical zoom for incredible magnification with full optical quality. Digital zoom takes you up to 800x.

2.7" LCD widescreen: The scroll bar and buttons are touch-sensitive so you just glide your finger up or down the bar to choose menu items while its cool blue light follows your movements. You don't touch the screen itself, so it won't get dirty or smudged. This Everio even adjusts brightness of the LCD backlight for comfortable viewing, indoors or out.

Image stabilization: The built-in digital image stabilizer effectively compensates for "camera-shake," enabling stable shooting and clear, smooth results.

Konica Minolta lens: All Everio models have been equipped with a high-performance Konica Minolta lens for exceptionally clear and bright images.

Great Size, horrible quaility

I bought this based on the size and the ability to get rid of my old Digital-8/tape. I did a day of testing and thought ehvideo looked great on the 2.7' LCD. when I got the video onto the PC it looked really bad. I tried to burn to a DVD as well and stillit was horrible. Blochy/unsharp and focus was slow. I thought that maybe the software was re-encoding before it burned to DVD, so went straight to the DVD from the camcorder. Still no better. I then opened up a movie clip I did on my little Sony W80 andto be honest, the digital camera video looked better. Crisper colors and the image stabilization was better. This model after 10x on the zoom, was really jumpy.
Just to put in in perspective, I returned it after 2 days and took the $61 hit/restocking fee(which is lame because you cannot try it before you buy it, besides the little 2.7' screen). I am not happy about the fee, but am glad I am not stuck with this. If you do your research on the web first, you will see that HDD camcorders are very poor quaility compared to the DV tapes.
I doubt any maker will be much better since the compresion is so much that the quaility really suffers.

I bought this camera to replace my hi8,i returned it after 12 days and paid the 55 dollar restock fee.I bought a sony dvd burner instead until the technology gets better and the price comes down on high definition units.After i bought it i read reviews and decided to check out the picture on the tv to see if picture transfer quality was poor as people said and they were right,it is!I couldnt even get the software to work in my computer to burn a dvd,when i used the sony dvd burner with usb cable,it stilldidnt work,had to use s cables.Tried to film my son on the couch in slightly low light condition and could hardly see him.no good ,do yourself a favor and dont buy!my old sony hi8,and dvd burner i bought is way to go for me for now.Also the still camera was the worst i ever used,any slight motion and picture all blurry,complete junk!!!!

The camcorder video quality isn't very good. I viewed a recorded video on my HD TV and it looked slightly grainy. I checked it out on my PC and it was just a little better. The video quality on the camcorder's LCD screen is excellent and it should be thesame quality if you view it on the LCD screen and on your LCD HDTV but its not.
