ACP-EP 1GB USB 2.0 Rubberized Privacy Drive with Digital Vault

Features

Privacy Drive: The rubberized Privacy Drive with Portable Vault software is designed to encrypt data on your USB 2.0 Flash Drive so that it will not be useable or accessible to anyone without the proper access password.

How it works: The Portable Vault software is extremely easy to use. Once you enter your password, you will have the ability to add and remove files and folders from the vault.

Files that are added will be protected using 256 bit AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) encryption. Files may be added using drag and drop from Windows explorer as well as using the "Add" button from within the program.

Compatibility: Windows® 2000 (SP4), XP Home / Pro (SP1, SP2)

I do a lot of scrapbooking, and this itme is great for storing all my scrapbook stuff on. Great item. Just wish Circuit City had of come thru on the rebate tho!

Luckily, I received my rebate after a loooong wait. As to the drive, sometimes it's recognized immediately, sometimes it freezes, sometimes I have to shutdown a computer and reboot with the drive in. I don't trust the reliability of this drive enough to keep important data on it only, so whatever I have there, I have backed up elsewhere- not a bad idea under any circumstance anyway. However, it the instability of it's recognition on different computers that annoy me. The transfer of files is speedy, but again, sometimes you can have the drive in the usb port for hours, then when you wish to drag something into or out of the drive, you get an error message, and more often than not, have to reboot the system with the drive in the port. As for the Privacy Vault, eh, no big deal it's a pain overall. For text files, you can download a free program called locknote to protect saved passwords and stuff like that. If you have multiple txt files, you'll have to rename locknote, just make sure you keep the .exe extension. Don't waste your money on this drive. Unreliable.
