Features

High-performance protection: This protector provides an uninterrupted power supply (UPS) as well as protection against surges and spikes that travel over phone/fax/modem and high-speed Internet lines.

Backup time: This UPS offers up to 65 minutes of backup time at 80VA/50 watts.

Graceful shutdowns: This device offers 550VA/330 Watts of output—enough power for most PCs and an assortment of peripherals. If power is not restored, the included software will gracefully shut down your PC for you, so that no data is lost.

Connections: This device features eight outlets—all with surge protection and four that also feature battery backup.

Alarms: Don't worry about running out of power, this protector has alarms to indicate when the battery is being used, when battery power runs low or when there is a continuous overload.

It is only 48 minutes of backup

As of 5/12/07 this Circuit City ad states it has 65 minutes of backup. Upon picking up the product, I realized the box says it is only 48 and there is nothing to be done about it by calling customer service.

Battery needs to be tested after about 2 years of use. Shutdown all connected loads. Turn the unit off, disconnect all loads, plug 150 watts of incandescent lamps into the battery backup receptacles, leave unit plugged in over night, turn unit on, wait30 seconds, then disconnect the unit from the wall receptacle. If the lamps stay on for 8 or more minutes after the unit was unplugged, the battery is OK

I've been using APC UPS for years. They are dependable products that do what the company says they will do. Several years back I had lightning strike very close to the house. It tripped every circuit breaker in the house. I had my TV & computer protected by APC. The APC was fried, but it stopped the high voltage from reaching the electronic equipment. I called APC to get a replacement & they sent one free-of-charge, exactly what their guarantee said they would do. They also did a follow-up call two weeks later to make sure that none of my electronics were damaged. Great company!
