Acrobat 3D Version 8 also significantly reduces CAD file size by converting 3D designs to highly compressed, high-resolution Adobe PDF files using customizable conversion parameters. Capture designs in Adobe PDF with one-button ease from major CAD applications and from the latest CAD formats, including SolidWorks, CATIA V4 and V5, UGS NX and Pro/ENGINEER. Insert 3D CAD designs into existing and new Microsoft Office documents, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and convert the files to Adobe PDF for easy distribution.

Combine files: Create a single Adobe PDF document from multiple source files, including spreadsheets, Microsoft Office documents, e-mail, and 3D designs. Specify which pages, layouts, or sheets should be included from source files in a final, combined Adobe PDF document. Embed multimedia, 3D designs, audio, and video for a richer experience. For the first time, maintain individual digital signatures and security settings in different Adobe PDF files and forms when combining them into a single Adobe PDF package. Adobe PDF packages let users group related documents together as individual files, making it easier to add, extract, search and browse files. Share source files by attaching them to an Adobe PDF document in their original, native formats.

Easily share designs: Exchange 3D designs in Adobe PDF with users of Adobe Reader 7.0.7 or later, allowing them to view, rotate, and manipulate 3D designs and, when enabled by Acrobat 3D Version 8, analyze, mark up and comment on 3D objects using intuitive Acrobat tools and without the need for expensive CAD applications or viewers. When enabled by Acrobat 3D Version 8, Adobe Reader users can also measure 3D assemblies and individual parts as well as save new 3D views and cross sections. Communicate 3D design intent with cross sections and exploded-view animations. Call attention to parts or subassemblies with custom views, multiple rendering modes, hide/show parts, highlighting, sticky notes, and markup tools.

Collaboration: By enabling collaboration tools in Adobe Reader 7.0.7 or later, your extended team can fully participate in e-mail-based or shared reviews of Adobe PDF documents, saving new 3D views and using measuring, cross-sectioning, commenting, and mark up tools. Track which reviewers have contributed feedback, automatically send reminders, and add new participants. Easily compile comments from multiple reviewers into a single Adobe PDF document.
