We have had this same Ionizer for at least 15 years and it is still working. The only reason for purchasing a new one is that other than using it as an ionizer, my husband works early mornings and needs complete quiet to get to sleep early at night when everyone else is still awake. The ionizer is not loud but it is a constant relaxing sound that blocks out other noises. Over the years it seems to have gotten softer and so he wanted to replace it with the same one. He has tried sleep sound machines but the ionizer has just the right relaxing sound and it is an ionizer also, double benefit.
