This is a well-designed machine ideal for cooling a single room, much superior to the more-expensive PLM model also by Amcor. Effective, easy to use, nice looking. Drawbacks are common to this type of appliance in general: noisy, requires drainage of condensed water, cumbersome 5-inch exhaust hose. Best to vent this hose through the wall, but in any case, insulate the hose using a blanket or towel, as it gets quite hot. Expect to be able to pull the room temperature down about 10 degrees, which can make a big difference to comfort!

We live in a town house and our central air just doesn't do it in one bedroom upstairs (385 sq ft). Easy to operate and neat looking. We turn it on only at night . It didn't take very long to cool down to 72 degrees, and once there, the fan started up and temp stayed. We've had it for over 1 week now (hope it's durable) and haven't had to drain it yet. Unit is not too big once we removed our standup oscillating fan. A little noisy but got used to it.

We live in an old house and the central air just doesn't do it upstairs in the kids' rooms. This cools the biggest room well it took several hours to bring the temp down to 74 degrees, but once there, it stayed. Unit is kind of big, but not all that noisy.
