If you buy and Archos, for sure, you need the Opera browser and the mini dock. First, you have to read the manual carefully and understand perfectly how it work and what settings you need to change before you download or copy files. (very important!!!).Second, buy SD memories and try to use them as the main place where you have all your files (if you reset the Archos or it freeze, you don't lose your information). Third, update the firmware using the Archos and you will save a lot of time and problems.And the last, be very careful and take good care of your display or buy the plastic film protector.
Well, friends, this device is amazing!!!!!!!! I use it to read interesting or important PDF documents I make, movies (Dvix quality!!!!!), music (5 bands equalizer and use your best MP3 quality), photos (with 8.1 MP you are going to be amazed with the zoom option!!!!!!!!), surf in the Internet (it search for all the close networks and show you ID, signal level, if locked or not!!!!!) 100% open andcomplete and the last service: you use some light PDA options (calculator, 3 days local weather, vault for all your passwords, five news websites-NYT, WSJ,CNN,etc, a place to take some notes, currency converter and unit converter). With the mini dock,you can see the movies in your TV, charge the Archos and use an external HDD (XXX GB of movies, music,photos and documents!!!!!).
So, I don't know another device with so many nice and useful options just for $260. And personally, I think it feels in your hands and your pockets so good that I love to take it with me almost to any place.
If you want to enjoy really the sound of your Archos, buy a good earphones.
If you have a 102 error, try to turn off the Archos, take out the SD memory and turn on again. If you don't have the same error code, just insert the SD memory and never turn off the Archos.
Remember: You have to know what you want first, and later buy what you need! And I did the right buy for me!

Great product. Out of all of the mp3 players i have had this is the best. Accidently droped it in water and still works(had to dry it out for 3 days tho). The touch screen is one of the best features very responsive. I use it for everything web browsingto watching videos. I got 5hrs of battery life on watching videos. Got and 8gb SD card works great. Archos did a great job on it. Personaly i think it is better than the ipod touch

product is an atrocity stoped working 3 days after i bought it from circut city and hasnt been working since sent it to archos for repair and it did the same thing again now i have to send it back again for more repairs circut city should pull it from there shelves a horrible device
