I'm a recording engineer and people pay me to do audio work. While I love my 12 disc CD changer, I crave the variety of my little MP3 player. I've been through a couple of cassette adapters (Sony and Monster) and I've tried the Belkin FM transmitter which was returned immediately due to terrible sound quality.

The cassette adapters when brand new would hiss between songs and didn't sound that great even with a squeeky clean cassette deck. This FM modulator is completely silent between songs and thesound quality is near CD quality. I'm shocked with the quality of this device through my Pioneer tuner. I really couldn't be happier.

The downside is that installing this is nearly the same amount of work as installing a new car stereo. Pull the fusefrom the fuse panel, remove the trim pieces in the dash, do your magic to slide the stereo out, tap into accessory power and ground then solder your connections, put it inline with the antenna, etc. You get the idea. I installed my own head unit, CD changer and sub a few years ago so I know exactly what I'm doing and I have all the tools. It still took about 30 minutes to carefully install it. If you don't feel comfortable doing the equivalent of installing a new car stereo then pay to get it installed. That's the downside. And also you can't take this along with you for a weekend road trip in someone else's car like a cassette adapter or a FM (wireless) transmitter, as it lives in your dash and is (or should be) soldered in place. The upside is mymp3's finally sound good when I'm driving!

With a little knowledge of stereo installation this unit can be installed and used to connect MP3, satelite radio, PC, etc.

My only negative was the bright red switch boot stands out to much, too bright. Substitute a more subdued color and switch blendswith dash much better.

Was easy to install on my first vehicle, 99 Dakota. It works great for any device, however, if I used something like an MP3 player or my phone on it, it comes out very quiet. I think this is due to the fact that it was ment for things like DVD players andsuch with a higher output level. No big problem though, just turn the volume up higher. Sound quality is great, We sold the Dakota so I took it out and put it into our 06 Ridgeline. instalation was not as easy for this one. The Dakota used the same typeof antena connector, but the Ridgeline uses a different one. I think that this product uses a very common type, but Honda just had to be different. I had to splice the wires in. Still works great, just a bit harder to install. Check your radio before installing. If it does not have the same connector as this product, then try looking around for an adapter. If so, then it just plugs right in. I just didn't look for an adapter and if one is not available, it is not that hard to splice, Overall, once you use this, you won't want to go back to the static and hassle of wireless units.
