They say you need a minimum of 3 points to analyze a trend. I have gone through 3 of these units in the last 6 months. They tend to overheat and burn out - even in a permanently air conditioned environment.

Go with another product.

I've always been skeptical of belkin products... However, in desperate need of a HUB and the only type available in store, I picked one up...

However, after only a couple of weeks my device started to fail. Basically, I stepped out to do some errandsand left my PC on. When I returned, It could no longer see the products connected to it and the base was running extremely hot!

Being leary because it had my iPod and a few other devices attached to it, I quickly disconnected it all. I then connectedthe devices to another port on my PC and all looks well! Thankfully the shortcircuit method in the device works but unfortunately should have stayed with my first instinct!
