I have used this camera for the last week. I tried it in sports situations as well as indoor situations. DV is excellent and HDV is very good quality when compared to similar other brands in this price range. It is very small and light and does take somegetting used to to keep it steady when moving without a tripod. So far I have been very happy with the quality all around and the ease of editing the DV or HDV with Vegas 7.0 on the PC or my choice Final Cut Pro on the MAC.
Great camera for vacations andnon professional sports outings.

Not worth the price, in my opinion. 1.5x seems like a lot but when you see it you realize it's not going to make or break your shot. Also, when you have this lens attached, and you are not zoomed in (i.e., you are at the widest angle), part of the pictureis actually obscured by the the lens housing. So you can't just leave it on all the time - you can really only attach it when you want the extreme zoom. Also, this can only really be used with a tripod and the remote control to take a shot, since the magnification creates too much shake for a hand-held shot.
