Canon Pixma MP160 Photo All-In-One Printer

Features

Inkjet all-in-one: This no-compromise photo all-in-one printer lets you get more done, right at home. The precision nozzles use microscopic ink droplets to produce fine detail and high resolutions of up to 4800 x 1200 dpi. You'll print beautiful photos and copies that are truer to your original images and text.

PC-free printing: Print photos directly from a PictBridge-compatible camera or DV camcorder—no computer required!

Print speed: Enjoy high-speed output speeds for both black-and-white and color copies. Expect print speed of 22 pages per minute for black-and-white documents and 17 ppm for color. Print photo lab quality, 4" x 6" borderless photos in about 52 seconds.

Flatbed scanner: Create high-quality scans up to 600 x 1200 dpi (optical) with vibrant 48-bit color depth. The unique Z-Lid lets you copy or scan thick items that do not lie flat on the platen, like personal notebooks.

USB 2.0: The USB 2.0 high-speed interface accelerates the process and enables faster image transfer, printing and scanning speeds.

Software bundle: This printer includes ScanSoft® Omnipage® SE®, ArcSoft® PhotoStudio®, Easy-PhotoPrint, and Easy-WebPrint (Windows® only).

Pros:
- I like the printing speed.
- Faster scanning at 150dpi as compared to HP
- User friendly
- Superb scanning and printing quality for this printer category
- Great bundled software

Cons:
- Auto Sheet Feeder - too noisy when feeding-in the paper (clunk!!!)
- USB cable not included
- Not enough info on Ink Cartridge replacement (add more colorful/informatve stickers inside please like the HPs)
- Limited printing settings

I bought my MP 160 from a friend who wanted to sell it. The installation of the cd program went very smoothly.

I then tested out the printing, scanning, and copying. To my surprise, everything turned out very good. On those three functions, I rate them excellent.

I haven't tried printing any pictures yet. I didn't buy this printer to do so.

For a home printer, you can't go wrong in buying a Canon MP 160.
