Cobra 20-Mile GMRS/FRS 2-Way Radio (2-Pack)

Features

This ultra-compact GMRS/FRS two-way radio value pack boasts radios with a range of up to 20 miles

Includes rechargeable high capacity lithium ion batteries and a two port desktop charger. The desktop charger wall adapter can also charge one radio through its speaker/microphone/charge jack.

Other features include 10-Channel NOAA All Hazards Radio, Vibralert silent paging, VOX hands free operation, 10-channel memory, illuminated LCD and a scan feature.

Save as many as 10 channels in the memory and then scan as many as you would like.

Instant access to national all hazards and weather information, 24 hours a day

A unique circuit extends the life of the batteries. If there are no transmissions within 10 seconds, the unit will automatically switch to battery saver mode.

The user's voice is detected and the radio transmits without the need to press any buttons, freeing hands for other tasks. 3 VOX sensitivity levels allow the user to select at which point the radio will detect their voice.

The range is not anywhere near 2 miles with this product. My wife and family tested these today and did not even get 1 mile.

Range is not as they say but reception is decent. Buy a unit with batteries you can get from any store. Cobra batteries are proprietary and can only be purchased through them. I would not buy another cobra unit.

Don't believe anyone that says the range is 20 miles. FCC law limits max power output for civilian radious without lisence to 5W which is 5 miles max so if anyone says its more than 5 miles is not telling the truth.
