I bought this for my laptop and realized I did not have SP2 with XP. So I called D-link and they said I needed IE 7 as well. I had IE6 with SP1. Doesnt work with this card. You have to download the SP2 and install first prior to IE7. IE7 will not installwithout SP2. After that, I had to install the SP2 Wi-Fi Protected Access KB-893357 quick fix update. Once these updates were installed in order, the adapter finally worked at good speeds. A little bit of work with a USB stick to save the downloads, but worth the wait. I recommend the product, but make sure you have the specs otherwise it will not work.
