Features

Optimal performance: The D-Link Xtreme N™ antenna is designed to help improve the performance of the Xtreme N Desktop Adapter and Router, as well the RangeBooster N Desktop Adapter and Router.

Versatile placement within your home: This antenna comes with an extended color-coded cable, which allows for flexible placement around your Xtreme N Desktop Adapter or Router. Hide your desktop computer underneath your desk and maintain wireless performance by placing this antenna on top of your desk or mounting onto a wall. You can even hide your router in your closet or in an enclosed space and still achieve optimal coverage by using this flexible antenna.

Improve wireless performance: This antenna improves the performance of the Xtreme N Desktop Adapter, particularly if the adapter is in an area that isn’t ideal for sending and receiving radio signals. You can also use this antenna with the Xtreme N router for greater placement flexibility, allowing the router to be placed near a modem or switch while the antenna is situated in a more ideal location.

Compatible with Windows Vista™: No matter how you use your PC, the Windows Vista™ operating system helps make it easier, safer and more entertaining. This antenna is Vista-compatible.

System requirements: 2.4GHz (draft 802.11n) networking device with detachable RP-SMA antenna connectors

Extends coverage logistically, but not long range.

I gave this item a 5 because it does help with the placement of your router, and coverage remained the same. However, I thought this would help in extending the total output of the signal of the DIR-655 but it does not. Getting more sophisticated antenna to acheive this.

This would work if you want to extend the length between the router and placement of the antenna only.

I gave this item a 4 because it does help with the placement of your router, and coverage remained the same. However, I thought this would help in extending the total output of the signal of the DIR-655 but it does not.

This will work if you want to extend the length between the router and placement of the antenna only.

The lead in wire should be longer.
