    If you still own a standard definition analog television set, do yourself a favor and buy a High definition television set, then get DirectTV HD receiver. Trust me, you will be amazed at the 1080i picture output. It is worth the extra money in my opinion.DirectTV HD receiver is not compatible with the older standard definition satellite dish components, therefore it needs to be upgraded as well. Keep in mind that the unit works for only one HDTV set, you will need to buy extra DirectTV HD receivers for other HDTV that you own. Use the supplied HDMI cable to your HDTV, it is the highest grade signal source possible and very easy and faster to connect compared to three video component cables along with the two audio composite RCA plugs. No need to visit atown theater ever again, I have one in my living room as the unit has Dolby Digital 5.1. HDTV is like watching with two eyes vice one. You have to see it to believe.

    After receiving an H20 receiver from DIRECTV's free upgrade program and finding the refurbished box had serious overheating problems, I returned it to DIRECTV immediately and purchased this from Circuit City. Am very happy with the picture quality and features. Hated to have to spend the extra money, but I found it was worth it.

    If you can find one, try an H20 instead of this H21 - the H20 has a connector for an OTA antenna. OTA provides a much better picture quality for your local channels than satellite.
