Excellent vacuum (despite the price)

I read many vacuum reviews and saw a common theme with all of the more affordable vacuums. Everyone was complaining about poor suction, not being able to pick up pet hair, or having to replace parts in less than a year! After reading hundreds of reviews, it was very easy to see that the Dyson was the only vacuum on the market that people were actually happy they bought (including me). Despite thinking the price was absurd, I decided to give the Dyson a shot.


I am very happy with my purchase! This thing can CLEAN. I have never seen anything like it. It pulls up hair, dirt, and things you had no idea were in your carpets and upholstery! It is also excellent for dusting (to my surprise)! Now my house smells good, my tile floor and carpeting is gorgeous, my upholstered furniture is completely rid of fur, and my wooden furniture is dust-free!


While my Dyson has changed my entire opinion on cleaning, it does have a couple drawbacks. It is a little heavy to handle when vacuuming stairs. It has a super long (17 foot!) hose, but if you have split or winding stairs you will need to carry it up with you. (You will need to do that with any vacuum though!) Also, the hose and accessories take some getting use to. I’ve read people complain that it’s noteasy to use on furniture or off-floor. I’ll admit that it was awkward the first few times trying to figure out how to use the wand and hose, but now that I have the hang of it I am able to clean all of my furniture very easily.

Overall, I am very happywith this purchase. Even though it is ridiculously priced in my opinion, I have no regrets at all with spending the money on it. The five year warranty is also a big plus in my book.

This was absolutely the best vacuum I have ever used. I have two dogs in the house and my old vacuum would never get all the dog hair up. The vacuum itself is great the the carpet cleaner that came with the machine is great. I would definitely recommend this vacuum to anyone who has pets or children.

I have to be honest - the first time we ran the 'Animal' at home after having used our old vacuum, I was shocked at the amount of other stuff it picked up. It does a great job overall - picks up all the dust and dirt that one would expect a vacuum to getafter, but does a great job on hardwood floors as well, especially getting after the dog hair. There is one hose that is a little tricky to use, but overall it's a great purchase - very user-friendly and handy. The price is a little steep, but well worthit when you consider how much better it works than any other cleaning product on the market.
