1) Battery life only 2 hours (not mentioned on cc web site)
2) With headphones at full volume can barely hear movie (I can only imagine how hard it would be to hear on a plane)
3) Annoying big old separate plug-in battery pack makes it not so compact

3 strikes - you're out!!

I bought this dvd player on May 8,2008 for my daughter's birthday. A week before our vacation in June it was broke. The pin that plugs in the car adapter and to charge the battery is gone. So we have had it a month and we are sending it back to the company to get it fixed only because circut city will not let me return it and get another one. Beware of this product and just get a different one!!!!!

Although this is an 8.5' screen, it needs a 10' portable dvd player case due to the extra 2' the battery adds to the height dimension (the battery attaches out the back rather than inside and under the player). Circuit city does not carry a case that fits this DVD player, but Sears has one for $30 that fits perfectly or you can order it online (Case Logic 10 portable dvd case model #-WDEC).

I like that you can use widescreen or regular (square) screen viewing, and with the case it can be attached on the back of a headrest or between the front seats! Plus, it's only $98 right now plus tax & recycling fee ($6). Great deal!

Volume is loud...if you get one that isn't, you should exchange it or by a hearing aid -) j/k But it is very reasonable for a portable appliance.
