Low price, does not last, OK when it worked (2 days)

I received this unit new as a gift from my wife for my office room.

The unit looks OK, it cooled my office for 2 days. On the 3rd day, the compressor would turn on, but the fan would not move at any of the selected speeds.

When I say it worked 2 days,I mean a total of about 18 hours, that's it!

I purchased this unit for my bedroom which is right around 12X14. I was pleasantly surprised that the room cooled down within an hour of operation. Some great features are the remote control which allows you to stay comfortable and still control the AC. Also the timer that you can program to turn the unit on before you even enter the room.

Great Unit for a Low Price. Probably the best you'll find in this price range.

This unit cools my room very quickly, I always notice a difference in a few minutes, and the room is cool within half an hour (room is about 100'sq). It's quiet, but I run it on low so if you get one and keep it on high it will, of course, be noisier.

Igave it 4 stars instead of 5 on Ease of Use because assembling and installing it was a little difficult. I had the most trouble putting on the curtains. Once it's in the window, it's very easy to use.

I gave only three stars on Durability because Idon't know how durable it will be. I've had it for less than a month, so far so good.

All in all, I'm very pleased and am convinced that this was the best unit in its price range. Mine looks exactly like the photo shown. The remote is much slicker than I expected, it's similar to a credit card in shape, is very slim and comes with a battery.

One piece of advice: If you order it for pickup, check the model number to make sure they give you this one. There's only a one-letter difference between this and a lesser model that has no remote. Always double-check the model numbers.
