I tried using this in my 450sqft apt, and it was useless - as long as your room is small (less than 300sq ft) it will get the job done. You should note, though, it's extraordinarily loud, and you'll be able to hear it from outside your room, or even apt.

It does everything I expected it to do, and cools a mid to large bedroom very well. The three fan speeds are a bit noisy, even when on the lowest speed.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with my purchase, and would buy another 'Haier' branded air conditioner.
