Features

The Professional 5 Plus has a powerful 450-watt motor that delivers enough power to handle the heaviest mixtures, and mixes large batches easily. This special bowl lift model has brackets on the bowl that fit over support pins on the stand mixer, which is than lifted up by a handle on the right side of the mixer to lock the bowl in place while mixing (this design is made to handle heavy mixtures and large recipes). The 5-quart polished stainless steel bowl is dishwasher safe. Its ergonomically designed handle is contoured to fit the hand and makes lifting the bowl more comfortable. This mixer also features a unique mixing action: the beater spins clockwise as the shaft spins counter clockwise, moving the beater to 67 different points around the bowl. This distinctive mixing action creates a thorough blend of ingredients and eliminates the need to rotate the bowl. Ten speeds allow the user to select the right speed for the mixing job, from very high to a very slow stir. The flat beater, dough hook, and professional wire whip add to the versatility of the mixer. In addition, the Soft Start mixing feature helps prevent ingredient splash-out and "flour puff" at startup, while "Overload Reset" helps eliminate overheating of the motor. A hinged hub cover flips up, allowing easy installation of attachments and never leaves the mixer. From citrus juicer to sausage stuffer, KitchenAid stand mixers can handle just about any job in the kitchen.

I am an executive chef and I have one in my kitchen. This is one inexepensive machine that has made alot of money for our kitchen and will continue to do so for a long time to come. This mixer takes abuse and use like nothing I have ever used before. With this mixer I have made Pavlova, meringue tarts, eclair paste, dozens upon dozens of yeast rolls, various bread recipes, not to mention whipped potatoes and whipped sweet potatoes. The best part about this mixer is I don't have to worry about throwinggood money after bad. Th only maintainance we do to our mixers is give them a good wipe-down after each use and sanitize the bowl and various attachments. It is sturdy, reliable, and never fails. I may not be able to always count on my employees but Ican always count on my Kitchen Aid mixer!

I also cheffed for a living. I have a Professional Kitchen Aid at home and can not escape a day without using it for one thing or another. I would not own anything besides a Kitchen Aid to be frank. I have tried others in past and they just do not holdup to the task. My old Kitchen Aid is so old I can't remember when I got it... it was years and years ago. There was absolutely nothing wrong with it... it even still looked fantastic... it was white. I just wanted a new one and passed the old one downto my daughter who now uses it for everything as well. The quality is unsurpassed! My sister owns one also and had a problem with her paddle... no worries.... she called Kitchen Aid and they were more than happy to send her another one free of charge and it arrived in the mail in a speedy manor. When can you get that kind of service any more in this day and age? Want to pamper yourself? Go out and get a Kitchen Aid.... you will never be sorry.... guaranteed!
