LaserShield Starter Kit

Features

Instant security: The LaserShield Instant Security System is a family of innovative, easy to use, low-cost, security system products. The LaserShield Starter Kit is ideal for rental homes, apartments, townhomes and condos, and is a perfect security solution for college dormitories, retail stores, and offices.

Easy setup: LaserShield plugs into an existing telephone jack and uses a standard wall outlet for power.

Panic button and speaker: The 24-hour panic button remains active whether the system is armed or disarmed. Pressing the panic button at any time will immediately activate the siren and initiate a call to the 24 X 7 Rapid Response Monitoring Service through your existing phone line. When an alarm condition exists the LaserShield Master Alarm Unit sounds a 105-decibel siren. Sirens are an active and very important line of defense against burglary.

Battery back-up: Each LaserShield device is equipped with a backup battery, used in the event of lost power. The Master Alarm Unit battery is rechargeable and the Master Alarm Unit will notify your monitoring service if the battery charge becomes low. Other devices such as Wireless Detection Units and Keychain remotes report their battery condition to the Master Alarm Unit, which will notify you if a battery needs to be replaced.

Infrared detection: Each LaserShield® Wireless Detection Unit is equipped with a state-of-the-art passive infrared detection system. The unit's view of detection spans out from the front of the unit in a 110-degree pattern ranging over 35 feet. Delivering approximately 1100 square feet of detection. The LaserShield motion sensors samples the ambient room temperature and will detect an intruder's body heat moving across its detection zones.

User call feature: The LaserShield Master Alarm Unit has a special ''phone in'' feature. Using a secret PIN number our customers can telephone their alarm system from a remote location using a telephone or cellular phone. This feature allows them to check system status, remote arm, remote disarm, or even activate a hidden microphone to listen in on babysitters, children, or pets.

Portable No Hassle Set Up

My 7th grade son and 8th grade daughter had it set up in minutes with activation. Their are 8 of us in the house, and no matter how hard we tried, we couldnt get by the motion detectors without setting them off. I bought one for my oldest daughter to taketo college so she'll never walk in on a confrontation! At under $20/mo. it's well worth the peace of mind.

Lasershield ruined my Christmas

Bought this product after being badgered by one of their pushy sales reps in the store. Told me I had to have this product to protect my Christmas presents so I bought it. I had it hooked up to the monitoring service and had yard signs out in front. Long story short, my house got broken into, all the burglar did to get past this system was take the phone off the hook. I came home to a robbed house with no Christmas presents. If you want your house robbed, buy a Lasershield and put the signs out in front. What a joke!

Setup is easy and operation is simple, then if you actually need the instructions it's a really a breeze. Weigh the costs of any other system plus monthly monitoring and this is the way to go. ALL other systems require permanent installations, with the Lasershield you can simply move your components around to suit your needs, AND take them with you when you move or go on vacation. Technical support is excellent and just a phone call away 24hours a day...with a HUMAN. Another feature I like is that everycomponent has a battery backup built in. It would be nice to have more options available, but you have to start somewhere. Things that could be better: The speaker for the voice prompts needs a volume control, it is really loud especially for an apartmentsetting(I have a blanket over mine), The WDU wireless detection units could be a little smaller for easier concealment, currently they are just larger than a computer speaker, but hey, they do Work. To sum it up, if were to do it again, I'd still buy a Lasershield!
