Really good cam

I've had mine for 2 months now although I didn't buy it from CC. The picture quality is very crisp and clear. I was truly suprised at how good webcams have gotten. There is very little grain in the picture and colors are good. You can select from manysizes to record with and the software is easy to use. The right light technology is really great also it does everything it promises. Videos on YouTube are of far superior quality compared to many others, webchat works good too. I downloaded all thefree avatars and effects you can use with this cam and they are fun to play with but not really useful for anything important. They are really accurate though and it is pretty hard to make the camera effects mess up I've read a lot about windows xp conflicts and more recently HP computer media center conflicts and I have an HP media center pc and I have no problems at all. The camera is larger then you might think though about the size of 2 shotglasses bottom to bottom so if you have a thin bezel on the top of your screen you might have a little overhang into your LCD picture. The clamp that secures it to the top of your monitor holds the camera well. It is a little expensive but the ultra vision SE (black) just looks so very good on the top of my 24' widescreen LCD I have had dozens of compliments on how good the camera itself looks. Think of this you will proably buy cheaper ugly and akward looking cams that have terrible picture. Save yourself the misery of multiple exchanges and just buy thiscam.

Great picture but questionable sound quality

Logitech's Ultravision webcam is without a doubt cutting edge technology in the world of webcams however, Logitech needs to upgrade the sound quality to match the camera's image quality. No matter what I do, I get a background hum with any recording using Ultravision's microphone.

The picture quality rates a 8 out of 10. This is about as high as I would go with any webcam image rating. The Ultravision looks good and is the top of the line webcam for any price. 'Keep checking for the camera's latestdrivers'.

good for youtube videos

I have made over 100 youtube videos with this webcam. The auto focus and lighting controls are excellent, after you do some initial install and setup, it is very easy, just push the button on the left side to start the software and preview picture, clickrecord, and off you go. The colors and picture quality are very good in natural light or with room lighting. Be sure to use the 640x480 mode if you want the vids to look good after uploading to youtube. The only drawback is the microphone, which records at a low bit rate and poor quality, only suitable for talking. You will need to record seperately for music or vocals.
