I have been looking for a good mp3 player (other than an ipod) for a while but when I got the new zune 8gb I was amazed in so many areas. Even though the screen is a little small it still looks the best, sound is incredible, and the menus are really well organized. The day I got it I was already putting music videos and Family Guy episodes (with the help of Windows Movie Maker to convert them to the right format) and they look amazing. I highly recommend this player.

I love my zune. If you get a zune, get the 'zune pass' for $14.95. It's a service you'll have for life- . I'm a music fanatic, so I was extremely happy that my account links the music I have 'owner rights' for to all places I log on. This includes albums I purchase on the zune market place and CD's I own/purchase as well!

There's a 'social' aspect where I can see everything my friends are listening to, and I can sync up to their zune's and swap music. Also syncs up with my xbox360 and of course my PC.

It's tough, doesn't need a case and is small enough that it fits within my wallet. I never considered an IPOD because they seem like they would shatter with my lifestyle.

There's a review I read on here about 'crackling'... I don't recommend the headphones that the zune comes with, so buy new ones when you get the device. But you shouldn't be buying mp3 player hardware for the headphones. I bought $20 Nike headphones with my zune & I wear my zune in my wristband when I play basketball and have never experienced any of those problems.

i exchanged my 4GB for the 8GB in hopes that i wouldn't have the same problems with the sound (headset jack was loose and crackling sounds were heard when it moved), but i experienced the same problems with this one. i just ended up returning it and getting a different product.

volume only goes to 20, which is actually low on this device, there is no option to change bass or treble, and no equilizer.

this is good if you don't really know anything about mp3's or particularly care about the sound problems.
