power line burned out in the neighborhood, brand new dlp tv and dvd player purchased 4 days prior were plugged into surge protector and were both ruined .
computer plugged into APC brand backup power and surge protector were fine. Go with APC and stay away from this monster!

I was recommended this plug by a Circuit City salesman when I bought a new big screen tv and vcr. I had four things plugged into this, the TV, VCR, Table lamp and a clock. Two months into the service of this protector, on a clear windless day, everything plugged into this went off. I checked the circuit breaker, nothing was tripped. I checked the surge protector and it was off. The reset wouldn't work either.
I unplugged it and on the bottom of the surge protector was a quarter sized burnt spot.
Ruined. Luckily, everything utilizing this was ok.

You just cant get a better surge protector at a very reasonable price. Have 6 items hooked up and have no worries about any problem that could arise. If you want to be safe and sure, this is the one for you.
