I'm new to Firewire and I've found there are a few different kinds. No where on this cards packaging does it tell you that the female sockets on this card (and until the time of this review, nowhere in the specifications) is it noted the sockets on thiscard are 6 PIN Firewire sockets! So the Firewire connector, 4 pin male to 4 pin male cable I purchased was useless with this card. But a quick return to the store, a sob story and an exchange and now I have the needed 4pin/6pin Firewire cable. The Ulead video editing software with which this card ships is out of date. It ships with VideoStudio 8SE, while Ulead is up to version 11.5 (I believe that's right).

Other than that, the card seems to be working/intergrating with my XP system.

I put the card in the computer and booted up xp. The card appeared to install. The problems is that my cd rom drives both vanished from the system. There is evidently a conflict which I cannot find out how to resolve.
