Good screen for firt timers

...I must say, it was easy to install...BUT THEY DO NOT PROBIDE SCREWS. The up/dn/stop remote AND detachable switch is very nice. The HighContrast screen with the glass bead leaves that Silk Screen Effect (SSE) jut like a DLP TV does (such as the Sonysxrd and Mitz/Sammy's)...it reminds me of seeing crystals in snow...I hope you know what I mean. But due to that effect, I'm going to return it. ALSO...you CAN NOT ADJUST THE DROP!...that is as high as one (like myself) needs. I have 8ft ceilings and the casing is about 4-5 inched tall...and I need the screen to drop and the top masking to be only 3-4 inches tall. Setting the drop to Auto Stop can only happen after the screen lowers to a partcular point. That point for me, is too low and hits the table below it. I need to have it stop a total of 59 inches...it won't adjust that high. The lowesst setting point is 64 inches. Meaning I have to manual stop it ...leaving that option to waste. BUT, if you are OK with the SSE, and have taller ceilings,it really does deliver quite well. Outstanding CR Great whites (if you have the power...and the 2 inch masking doesn't reflect too much (though it does somewhat)

DAYTIME VIEWING is a breeze. Night time is perfect. For my 6000:1 ratio and 2000 LumensI think this screen is overkill.

PS: the Viewing cone on this is about 3-4 feet from 12 away on a 106 inch screen...beyond that in ANY DIRECTION, the screen will dimm (Again just like watching a DLP TV.) Hope that helps.

Lousy support, Waves & Ripples, 'Sparklies' in texture

Huge ripples. The Optoma tech support said they all have them and would not exchange it. Circuit City only had 1 left for exchange, I had to drive to the other store 40 miles away to get it. Since the local store said I would have to return the one in useand they would replace it in 6 weeks, leaving me with no video for over a month. The box was ratty, and the new screen has these glass 'sparklies' that are very distracting, but thankfully none of the huge ripples that caused the image to distort. The gain is 1.8, makes it a dark screen, had to crank up the brightness a lot, still not nearly as bright as my old manual 1.0 gain. I would exchange it in a heartbeat if there was anything to exchange it for. Bad Purchase Decision. Optoma should never have gone into the projector screen business, horrible support.

Good screen but some issues

I have had this screen for about 5 months and it has been a decent addition to my set-up. The one problem I have had is that twords the bottom of the screen it has started to warp causing the picture to appear as if it were underwater. It is very distracting especially when watching sports with the ticker at the bottom. The ticker actually looks like a flag floating across the bottom of the screen. I plan on replacing this screen with a Stewart fixed mount but as one other reviewer stated the main reasonI purchased this screen was that my local Circuit City had it in Stock. As far as price goes I feel like i got a great value for what I paid for it considering other screens in this size cost around $2500 for a fixed mount.
