I bought this to make a contribution to cleaning up the environment. I thought the double filter system would make it easy to have clean drinking water.

You have to remember to soak the filter before you use it and to run a couple of gallons on water through it to remove any excess charcoal.

Once you get it going it becomes part of your daily routine. You need to remember to put cold water in as soon as you make iced tea or ice, it takes a while to filter the water.

You can pour filtered water whileyou are waiting for tap water to be purified due to a great pitcher design. The only improvement I hop to see is that they design a pitcher that is square and fits on the refigerator door.

I no longer buy bottled water in gallons. I still have to figure out how to manage water on the go. I feel happy that I am reducing my carbon foot print on the earth by using less water packed in plastic bottles.
