1.5 qts is a great size for 1-2 people, you don't have to deal with leftovers

this is the second rival crock pot this size i've ordered for me, my old one finally gave out, after 5 years of being used at LEAST 2-3X weekly. i have also bought several as gifts..a perfect thoughtful gift for people that live alone, as they don't needto make a huge amt of food, like you do in the larger crock pots. it also takes up much less space on the counter... my friend's mom, recently widowed, told me that she was eating frozen dinners because it was too much effort to cook just for herself..isent her the small crock pot with some of my favorite 'for two' recipes, and now she uses hers a few times a week, and is expanding her menus...it's also a great gift for newlyweds.. people i have given the small one to, have said their bigger crockpots go unused while the little one gets used a lot.
