It has an EQ.

I don't know why these are listed in specs as not having an EQ. The Sandisk website itself doesn't even list it. This was my one reservation about buying this player, I am picky about sound.
Well I couldn't beat the 2GB space so I bought it and it turnsout there are 4 preset options, Rock, Pop, Jazz and Classical. If you don't like any of them there is also a 5 band customizable EQ.

This is an okay mp3 player. It's good for the money, but it's not without its problems.

One thing I found is NEVER put anything but NEW batteries in this player or it will mess it up when I put an already used battery in this player, it somehow denied me access to my files, but did not delete them and free up space.

Also, this player is kinda bad at reading ID3 tags, either v1 or v2, so I had to create a few playlists because it would not recognize half the songs on some of the albums as being on the album, as it couldn't read the ID3 tag.

It eventually started acting funny as the battery got lower. For example, the buttons were less responsive and it would freeze on occasion and require a restart.

Other than that, it worked well and was a good investment for the money.
