This hard drive is whisper quiet and I so far have almost 20,000 pictures on it and it is still running the same

Great value, but a little slow

These are your usual ultra-reliable, whisper quiet, 5-year warranty Seagate drives. I suppose since they are 500GB, they are a bit slower than your 80 or 160GB PATA brethren, but it's still a great value. I bought three recently and am using them for asingle 1TB RAID-5 setup for my home media/file server. Don't expect them to be as fast as a SATA or even smaller PATA drives, though. Still, I can't complain. They are great drives!

Fast, Quiet, disk cloning software

My top two reasons for buying Seagate are (1) the five year warranty and (2) the Disk Wizard software that allows me to easily clone my system (C:) drive to the new disk.

My system is now noticeably more responsive with the new larger faster disk and I have my old disk as a backup to use as a cloning source if anything happens to the new drive.
