Nice looking memory stick. Retractable tip is nice feature. Beware that the read and write speed on this unit is extremely slow. A 25 MB file takes over 15 minutes to write to the memory stick and almost as long to copy back onto your hard drive. I have an older generic unit that runs 5 to 7 times faster. I will never buy another one until the performance is improved.

Does NOT work with Windows 98SE! (even with driver)

I downloaded and installed needed driver from Sony's website. Even made sure that USB was turned on in BIOS (Sony website suggested you check.) Driver installed fine. Hardware recognized. Showed up under 'Universal Serial Bus controllers' in the Device Manager, but NO drive letter! Called Sony. They told me to return it - that in some cases (I wonder which ones??) the device won't work with Windows 98. I don't think they should be advertising that it works with Windows 98 on the package! I'm returning ittonight!

This flash drive works fine. I have/use many flash drives including PNYs and SanDisks. I didn't do a speed test, but this Sony seems no slower than my PNYs/SanDisks. An enjoyable feature is a little green led under the slider switch that lights up when the drive is reading/writing. I was a surprised tho at how flimsy the body is compared to PNY & SanDisk. The included instructions say not to carry it in a pocket with coins or keys. Just don't physically abuse it and it should be ok.
