Granted the PS2 is in the shadows of its big brother PS3, it still packs a whole lot of fun and for a lot less than the PS3. The games for the PS2 are still coming out so it is not an item of extinction, yet. It also functions as a DVD player. Overall,the package is a bargain for the price you pay.

Well even though I now have a PS3 I still play my PS2 alot.This system is the best selling one out there and even the PS3 likely won`t top it since it`s sold 140 million copies while the ps3`s only sold 15 million because it`s too much stinkin money.It`sashame the PS2 isn`t still treated nicely.Now alot of games for it are rip-offs.It doesn`t have graphic or online capabilities the PS3 has and also doesn`t look as good and will sometimes have too many disk-read errors,but it`s still good.It`s just ashameit will be gone by 09 or 010.So PS2 users,if u can`t afford a PS3(I wouldn`t buy 1 I would let someone give it to you that`s how I got mine unless you`ve got alot of money)get all the PS2 games u want,cuz it won`t live much longer.Long live the PS2!

Yes, the PS2 has great potential for hours of fun - good game play, good sound, good on-line interaction - when the system works as it should - which seems like 75% of the time. I'm on a borrowed PS2 headset, the first was defective out of the plastic, my original controller was defective out of the box, and I've just been disconnected for what has to be the 237th time from the Socom Combined Assault server. It took me half a dozen attempts to get the consol to read the disk - it's clean, but 3 years old, and needs some coaxing to get started.

OK, I'm venting a bit. It is fun, and I keep going back for more. Just remember to cultivate your patience after you throw down your money on this system, because while you are getting what you pay for, Sony is definitly rounding off the corners on the quality of the components, if not cutting them outright.
