This recorder has better recording and play-back sound quality than most handheld or desktop recorders. Don't expect 100% clarity for $30, but do expect a better product than most on the market right now for this price range. I am very happy I bought thisproduct.

Our daughter is blind and uses the player to listen to tapes. We use it to copy tapes for her. We hope that Sony continues to make them. CD use just is not the same.

I have an Olympus digital recorder and a Zen plus MP3 Player on which I can also record. However, because I do voiceovers a lot, I find my Sony recorder a useful tool.

Also, I often tape from the TV (speeches, etc.) and find it great to use to tape andthen I type transcripts. Fortunately, I can type very fast and making transcripts has certainly increased my typing speed (143 wpm.).

I wouldn't be without it! I have used this tape recorder for years! The only reason I have had to replace it is becauseI dropped it. Actually, this is my third cassette tape recorder. I find the quality far superior to G.E.
