Remember people, we're talking about an $80.00 sub here. That's what I chose to grade it on. For $80.00 dollars it gave me everything I wanted. I used the in and out speaker connections for this sub, connected it to a very basic system in my basement,did a little tweaking and I was very surprised at the output from it. When I crank up the system, it puts out more than enough base and at low volumn, it has that nice thump that goes along with what your watching, or listening to. Really, for the price, I don't see how anyone can complain about it.

Make a Micro System HUGE!

I really like one-way, full range speakers because they sound so open. The trouble is that a big full-range speaker has trouble with the highs, and a small full-range has trouble with the lows. In my bedroom I was using some old Philips micro stereo speakers that have only one driver in the speaker box. I have always liked their overall tone, but they lack big bass. My solution was this Sony subwoofer. Now I have the open mids and highs AND the big bass.

I like this Sony sub so much that I am planning to buy another one for another micro system in another room in our house. The Sony is easy to connect, and the controls really get the job done. After a little trial and error, I got it sounding great. For the money it can't be beat.

I have the Sony Sub paired with a set of POLK RM 50's in my garage sound system. For the $ spent, I'm very pleased. The only complaint is the location of the control knobs. It's a minor complaint, once you find your applications sweet spot you can forgetabout them anyway. I would recommend it to anyone on a budget or just not wanting to drop a fortune on a garage system!
