Features

Digital video recorder: Record and store up to 80 hours of TV programming to the DVR's internal hard drive. The higher the quality recording, the more hours of storage are needed. 80GB of disc space allows for short-term storage of up to 80 hours of medium to high-quality recordings.

Dual tuner: Never miss your favorite shows, even if they’re on at the same time. Record two basic cable channels, or one basic cable and one digital cable channel, simultaneously. Plus, get all of the amazing, easy-to-use TiVo® service features. No phone line is required.

Find and record favorite shows: This DVR offers the WishList™ feature, which allows you to select a favorite actor or show type and record all programs that meet your search criteria. A TiVo subscription is required (sold separately).

Lets you control live broadcasts: Now you can replay or pause live TV, so you never miss a minute of the action. You can even skip the commercials.

On-screen program guide: Check TV listings up to 14 days in advance.

Records entire show seasons: Using the Season Pass™ feature, you can record an entire show season with the click of a button—and exclude reruns.

TiVoToGo™ transfers: Watch your favorite shows anywhere, any time, by transferring them to your laptop PC, video iPod ®, PlayStation® Portable, or other portable devices. Ethernet cable or compatible USB wireless adapter required (sold separately).

I bought my first Tivo at Circuit City several years ago and immediately learned something very important. I can't watch TV without it. It's the Tivo software interface that earns Tivo head of the class status. It's less about skipping commercials than itis about living life on my own schedule. Do I skip commercials? You bet. But when something catches my eye, like a new ad for Apple, I can stop and really key in on what is relavent to me. I added this model for the dual-tuner, a huge upgrade. 5 stars.

Even though the shipping was free and the sale price was great, this product is not compatible with HD TV's. I am returning the item after understanding the excellent rebate program required an expensive contract.

TiVos are great DVRs (Digital Video Recorder) to buy. You can record two shows at once with the TiVo and actually download your favorite video clips off the internet.
The only thing that I don't like about the TiVo is the service payments. If you're looking to buy a DVR, you should buy a TiVo.
