Fantastic DEAL....The picture projected is Bright enough to watch with ambient light and very compatible with different input formats (ie. 480i through 1080i). The only Draw back is the color green is rather well pronounced which can be compensated for through the menu options otherwise a formidable competitor in the market of Projectors. Referring back to the green color dominance, apparently all lcd displays Proj. and Flat Panels are prone to this.

This projector color corrects for projections surfaces that are not white (like black boards or green boards for instance). How they get white to look white on a colored background is truely amazing. This machine comes in a carrying case which is not mentioned in the description. It is rugged and bright enough to use in a well lit room. The bulb is expensive - $300, but it lasts 2000-3000 hours.

I got mine here for $499 about a month ago. At first, I almost took it back when I discovered that replacement lamps for this thing are over $300!! I would recommend the protection plan for $125, which covers one lamp. Anyway, I have been looking for projectors for a couple years, on and off, for watching movies on my wall or in my back yard. I bought this one on a whim because it was $200 off the normal selling price of $699 at CC. It is splendid for $499. Projectors often go on sale, but rarely for such a big percentage of the normal price. I have not been let down. The blackboard feature lets you project directly onto a non-white surface to correct for color (the options are beige, green, blue, brown, black. So far, I have only projected it onto aplaster wall that is painted orange, and it looks fantastic with the blackboard correction on brown. I can't imagine how good it would look on a proper screen. It's plenty bright to use in the daytime. I live in super sunny Arizona, and with the verticalblinds turned and ambient light leaking through every window, I still have no problem. The keystone correction works fine, but you will still see the trapezoid shape of the overall projection just your actual presentation portion of the screen will be corrected. From a distance of about 5†from my small coffee table (where it fits nicely on the lower shelf) the image on the wall is as big as any decent LCD or Plasma TV, maybe 36â€â€ diag but I am just guessing- itâ€s plenty big from 6†away.. The menusare a little hard to get used to-- after you select one menu headings, the interface completely changes and it's disorienting the first few times. The instant off feature is cool, but worrisome. I expected some mega fan cycle would kick in and run for like ten seconds, then it would shut off. This is not so. You turn it off, it beeps, and the normal fan runs for maybe 6 secs and then it's off. The unit is still scorchably hot to the touch, and I can't imagine you'd want to put it in the soft carrying case like that. On that note, the case is very nice and ultra padded, and it includes pockets for your remote, power cable, and video cable(s). Cosmetically, it isn't the prettiest projector. It looks boxy and bare-bones. I would recommend this projector highly, BUT-- wait for it to go back on sale for $499. Toshiba has discontinued this model so it will likely get cheap again.
