Uniden 5.8GHz Digital Waterproof Accessory Handset

Features

5.8GHz digital system: The 5.8GHz technology lets you talk anywhere in your house and still have clear reception. The digital spread-spectrum technology consistently finds clear and secure signals for great-sounding calls. This system won't interfere with your home network.

Waterproof accessory handset: The TWX977 is a waterproof accessory handset for compatible Uniden phones. It comes with the charging cradle only.

Call-waiting/caller ID: Find out who's calling, even if you're on the other line. This phone stores up to 30 caller ID names/numbers. Note: this feature requires phone company service.

Speakerphone: The handsets include a built-in speakerphone, so you can have hands-free access anywhere in your house.

Expandable: This accessory handset is part of a digital expandable system.

Call conferencing: Invite other handsets to join in a conversation with the four-way call conferencing feature.

Advanced phonebook features: Store up to 100 names with two numbers per name, alphabetical search, unique ringers by calling party and transfer a single listing or entire phonebook with the advance phonebook options.

Additional features: Other features include DirectLink™ Technology (two-way Radio Communication), intercom calling (handset to handset), call transferring, 20 ringer options, mute and hold, page key, multilingual menus, room monitoring, volume control and a belt clip.

nothing but problems with the phone and uniden

the multifunction button in the middle of the phone stops working, then you cant adjust the volume, the ringer loundness check missed calls, get into menus...i had this happen to two phones the one i bought and the warrenty replacement that the sent me for ten dollars shipping costs.
customer service keeps asking me for the shipping cost that they allready have and once they get it they will send out the replacement phone (a referb) that i have, and have problems just like the new one i bought.

This is a 2 line phone even though Circuit city lists it as a single line. I bought this phone with the TRU9496 and once you sync it to the base the softkeys show both line one and line two and it works exactly the same as the handset included with the 2line TRU9496. This handset does everything it is said to do. It Floats, it is submersible, can be rinsed off if it gets dirty and the sound quality is excellent, even the speakerphone. Some people reviewed this model and said the sound quality was poor, I found that after being submersed, water trapped in the speaker grill or microphone grill muffled the sound and caused a loss of sound quality. I found that if you blow on the speaker grill or the mic, this usually cleared the water and the sound wasrestored. Overall excellent phone for the pool or spa.
